FOI reveals properties in Midlands for London homeless

The Birmingham Mail report:

Sixteen West Midland properties have been acquired by London councils to house homeless people from the capital – despite local authorities here struggling to find houses for families.

Birmingham City Council spent £9million on temporary accommodation for homeless people last year, including £1,090,000 on bed and breakfast stays.

Yet London councils have secured 14 properties in the city – a mixture of houses, flats and block booking of B&Bs.
