The CCTV network that scans Scotland’s streets, shops and parks is fragmented, obsolete and may violate the law, according to a secret police report unearthed by The Ferret.

A review of public space CCTV, conducted by Police Scotland for the Scottish Government in August 2013, reveals that a dozen local authorities failed to audit their CCTV networks to ensure they comply with data protection law
