Thames Valley Police claimed £1.1 million for helping out with the NATO summit in September 2014.

The summit, which was held in Newport in Wales, attracted leaders from around the world and required a coordinated effort from police forces up and down the UK in order to keep it secure.

According to information obtained by the Trinity Mirror Data Unit through a freedom of information request, TVP requested a total of £1,110,809 from the Home Office and Gwent Police, the force normally in charge of policing Newport.
