FOI reveals top streets for stop and search in Glasgow

In December 2013, 460 people were searched by police on Sauchiehall Street.

That’s more than 14 people per day. And whilst Sauchiehall Street may top the league table for Police Scotland searches, there were seven other city centre streets that all saw more than 100 people searched in one month.

Throughout the city, 3474 people were searched during December. Most of the searches were conducted due to police concerns over alcohol, drugs, or weapons.
