Bosses at Gloucester City Council spent more than £200,000 on consultants to improve the mood of their staff, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

COUNCIL chiefs spent more than £200,000 on two external consultants to motivate staff and help them perform better.

And a Freedom of Information (FoI) request submitted to Gloucester City Council by The Citizen reveals no other firms tendered for a total of the £207,706.94-worth of work.

The council said all procedures had been followed correctly but it comes after another FoI request six months ago showed it spent £343,000 with Alexander Beaver Associates and HR Consulting Ltd, both run by a Noel Beaver, who continues to be contracted by the council.
