Hundreds of military staff are being investigated, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

Figures released by the Ministry of Defence show that MDP officers have a total of 314 “open” and ongoing inquiries into possible criminal behaviour by either defence staff or civilian contractors.
The list of potential offences include burglary, arson, assault, concealing criminal property and dozens of allegations of theft.
Other more unusual crimes include one instance of “disturbing military remains”, one inquiry into “fear or provocation of violence by words or writing” and one allegation of “stalking”.
