Investigation into Cumbria Police chief cost more than £600k, FOI reveals

The North West Evening Mail report:

COSTS incurred during the investigation into a suspended Cumbria police chief have risen above the £600,000 mark.

Figures revealed following a freedom of information request show South Wales Police ran up a bill of £157,035 in staff wages.

The force carried out the investigation into acting chief constable Stuart Hyde from October 26 last year to July 10.

The figure shows the full cost of the investigation as being £646,728.89 when added to figures released by the office of the Cumbria Police and Crime Commissioner in August.
