This is Kent report:
Kent Green Party claims that investments by Kent County Council (KCC)’s pensions fund in fracking companies is a conflict of interest for the authority which has the power to grant such companies licences to work.
KCC has denied the claims saying that the pension fund is run separately to the authority, with its own board, and has no power to influence licencing decisions.
A Freedom of Information request by the Greens revealed that KCC has £153 million worth of shares in eight companies involved in fracking.
