The Birmingham Mail report:

The number of students in the Midlands seeking counselling has soared in the last four years, according to a new survey.

Aston University had the largest increase, with the numbers of students seeking help increasing by over a third from 2008 to 2012, according to the Help Me Investigate Education (HMIE) study.

Warwick University and the University of Birmingham both increased by just under a quarter.
