NHS bosses spend almost £600,000 on flights to Miami, Cape Town, Sydney and more FOI reveals.

NHS bosses have spent almost £600,000 on training trips to Miami, Cape Town, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur in the last two year a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

The Daily Express report:

Despite the trips, health boards are on course to reduce staff by 802 in the current financial year having already lost 4,651 workers since September, 2009.

NHS Lanarkshire staff enjoyed a six-night stay in Miami Beach, in Florida, costing almost £1,000, for a conference on forensic mental health services. It was held at the luxurious Eden Roc Renaissance resort, on Millionaire’s Row.

It also spent £2,180 on a trip to a dementia conference at Sydney’s Darling Harbour and £2,741 on a four-day leadership course in Boston, Massachusetts.
