Businesses in Northern Ireland have been fined more than £400,000 after being caught with employees not entitled to work in the country. 

Irish News report:

Penalties worth more than £427,000 have been imposed on traders caught using illegal workers on their premises since 2010.

A total of 50 businesses in the north were penalised between 2010 and March this year.

Eight businesses have already been caught this year, meaning 2013 could be on course to eclipse last year’s total of 12.
