Rentals of Boris bikes a third down compared to this time last year, a Freedom of Information request has shown. 

The London Evening Standard report: 

The number of Boris bikes being hired fell by almost a third over the year to March, new figures reveal.

A rise in the price and bad winter weather are being blamed for the decline in popularity of the Mayor’s flagship scheme.

In the first week of March — the most recent for which figures are available — there were 135,364 bikes hired compared with more than 193,000 in the same week last year.
