A total of 85% of people arrested for burglary in Preston have been released with no further action, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

The Lancashire Evening Post report:

Figures from Lancashire Police, obtained by the Evening Post under the Freedom of Information Act, show there were 21,583 people arrested in Central Division in the last three years, with 10,677 released without further action.

Findings also shows: – 85 per cent of people arrested for burglary in the last three years were released with no further action. – Two thirds of people arrested over sex offences over the same period were also released without charge.
