The Birmingham Mail report:

An 83-year-old man was shot by police with a 50,000-volt Taser after threatening officers with a knife, the Mail can reveal.

And new figures show the West Midlands force also used the potentially deadly weapons on a 15-year-old and three 16-years-olds.

The cases were among the 573 members of the public tasered in the region in the past three years.
