LUCKLESS or careless council vehicle drivers have been involved in more than 125 crashes costing almost £100,000 in the past four years.

Figures obtained through a Freedom of Information (FoI) request submitted by The Observer show Royal Borough vehicles were damaged in 128 incidents on the road costing £98,799.43, from January 1, 2010 to January 6, 2014. Last year, there were 37 accidents with insurance payouts totalling £27,185.37.
